Tips For Whiter, Healthier Teeth… The Natural Way!
The one trend that never goes out of style is a white, glistening smile. But as we age and pick up habits such as drinking coffee and wine, our teeth end up paying the price. This is why we’d like to share a few tips that’ll help maintain that pearly white smile!
Replace your toothbrush. We tend to brush harder than we should, and this causes the bristles of our toothbrush to bend and fray. When this happens, we’re no longer able to clean the tooth surface effectively. Working towards a brighter smile can be as easy as switching out your toothbrush every 3 months.
Eat your fruits and vegetables. Foods such as apples, celery, carrots, spinach, and broccoli are not only healthy, but can also exfoliate plaque bacteria from the surfaces of your teeth. I guess that’s what they mean by “an apple a day keeps the dentist away”!
Rinse after eating acidic food. Though eating vitamin rich foods such as oranges are good for your body, the acid in them can erode away tooth enamel. Because of this, it’s important to rinse your mouth with water afterwards to remove the acid from your teeth.
Be mindful of staining foods and beverages. Coffee, red wine, and berries are all culprits of teeth staining, but that doesn’t mean you have to rid them from your life. Enjoy with moderation, try drinking with a straw and/or follow the tips above.
